Margaret Dale – Chair

Margaret is an experienced HR professional with over 40 years’ experience of helping people learn and change.  She is a qualified mediator and acts as Independent Associate Hospital Manager and Employment Expert. Chair of Yorkshire Mediation’s Board, Margaret has board level experience in NHS and Higher Education organisations.



Anthony Glaister – Trustee

Anthony has been a passionate advocate of mediation since the 1990s. As a lawyer he founded the Association of Northern Mediators and is active nationally on the Civil Mediation Council, which is the governing body for Commercial and Workplace Mediation in the UK. Anthony has covered a wide spectrum of disputes, either as mediator, arbitrator or mediation trainer.  Whilst he is also a community mediator and restorative justice practitioner, Anthony’s background is very much in commercial dispute resolution and he is very active in the promotion of peace and reconciliation as a way of being, supporting other charities working in this field.


David Whitaker – Treasurer

David is an FCA, who worked for over 30 years for an international industrial PLC and achieved the positions of Group Financial controller and Group Internal Audit Manager. Now retired, David became a Trustee and Treasurer of Mediation Yorkshire prior to its merger with Mediation Leeds to become Yorkshire Mediation.



Susan Betts – Trustee

Susan works as a Regional Programme Manager for the One Public Estate Programme in the Cabinet Office working with a variety of organisations in both local and central government to help them to take a strategic approach to asset management.  Susan has over 20 years experience in the civil service and has a background in grant fund management and government finance.  She has volunteered as a charity trustee for over 10 years and is a CIMA qualified management accountant.



Claire Morris – Trustee

As Company Secretary for a nationwide grant making Charity, Claire oversees grant making activities, education and helps provide opportunities for people who have mental health,learning disabilities and face barriers to achieving change in their lives.

Senior Management Team

Stella Steele – Chief Executive Officer

Stella supports the Board of Trustees by overseeing the day to day management of Yorkshire Mediation. Stella is an experienced charity manager, with a background in private business management and international business development. Stella is currently undertaking an Employment Law LLM and has a keen interest in early conflict resolution processes; in particular the benefits of workplace mediation.

Joanna Leatham – Services Manager

Joanna is an experienced operational manager and qualified community mediator. Joanna has a background in management and team development within the finance sector and oversees the management of all mediation cases for Yorkshire Mediation.

Ingrid Law – Training and Development Manager

Ingrid, a University lecturer, holds a Masters in HR Management. Ingrid brings a wealth of experience to Yorkshire Mediation and has developed and delivered bespoke training to various organisations.

Liz Sadd – Accounts and Bookkeeping

Liz is an experienced administrator and bookkeeper and looks after the accounts and finances for Yorkshire Mediation.

Mediation Volunteers, Restorative Justice Facilitators and Associate Mediators

Yorkshire Mediation is supported by a large team qualified mediators, with experience in community and workplace mediation and specialist restorative justice facilitation techniques.
